Anurag Thakur Flags off Road Show Against Corruption

BJYM President Anurag Thakur flagged off a road show from the BJP Headquarters at 11 Ashoka Road, New Delhi to create awareness on the issue of corruption. The road show is planned to generate energy and enthusiasm amongst the youth of Delhi ahead of the BJYM’s
"Sansad Gherao" Rally planned on 9th August 2011. The road show consisting of street theatre and a vehicle mounted with caricatures of senior Congress and UPA leaders will visit prominent locations across the city leading up to 9th August. Thakur said, “the youth of the nation is angry and aghast at the level of corruption prevailing in the country today”. He said “the present Congress led UPA government has become a government of scams with the 2G scam, the Commonwealth Games Scam, the Adarsh Society scam, the Antrix Multimedia Scam among other scams dominating headlines”.

The rally is planned to coincide with the anniversary of the launch of the Quit India Movement by Mahatma Gandhi on 9th August 1942. Thakur said, “today, the shackles of foreign rule and oppression have been replaced by the malaise of corruption. This is an opportunity for the youth of the country to come together and demand an answer from the Government on the single issue of corruption”
